A Magical Evening of Reading, Giving and Holiday Cheer!
Calling all young readers and animal lovers!
This holiday season, we’re transforming the Hawaiian Humane Society into a magical world of stories, compassion and furry friends! Deck the Howls invites keiki in grades 1-5 to become holiday heroes by sharing the gift of reading with shelter pets who can’t wait to hear about fun adventures.

Keiki will start off the night by decorating stockings, which the animals will get to take home with them when they are adopted, then they’ll cuddle up on cozy mats next to new furry friends. They’ll spend the rest of the night reading their favorite holiday stories to shelter animals. Afterward, they’ll end the night on a sweet note with warm hot cocoa and cookies to go!
Two Time Slots Available:
- First Group: 6:00 pm – 6:40 pm
- Second Group: 6:20 pm – 7:00 pm
*Please check in with our team 10-15 minutes before your time slot. Check-in opens at 5:45 pm.
Important Details:
- Limited to 15 magical readers per time slot
- REGISTRATION REQUIRED (1 registration per keiki)
- Parents/guardians must accompany children
- If you do not have a book for your child, one can be provided to you
