Pet Identification

Ensure your companion animal has ID.

Dogs are required to be registered with the City & County of Honolulu and to wear their license tag. Licensing proves legal ownership. The license is good for two calendar years and the fee is modest. Thousands of dog owners have also added further protection by giving their pet a microchip ID.

There is no license for cats, but they are required to have identification — either a microchip or collar and tag with your name, address and phone number — it's the owner's choice.
