Pet Food Bank Needs Donations
During hard economic times, food for Fido or Fluffy can truly be a hardship for some pet owners. Today, the Hawaiian Humane Society launches a program to assist pet owners with free food for those with pets in need. Pet food will be provided as available.
“First priority is to help those on any form of government assistance including unemployment and the homeless,” says Bianca Trombi, Community Outreach Coordinator. “We want to help pets and their families stay together and we hope this program will help.”
The public can support this program by donating any size of dry pet food at Hawaiian Humane Society or PETCO in Kapolei or Pearl City. The Humane Society is at 2700 Waialae Avenue. Drop offs are accepted 24 hours a day. Pet food donations can include kitten/puppy food and dog biscuits. Bags should be free from rips or tears and must be unexpired.
