Make a difference!

Join our talented team of volunteers that care for the animals in our community.

All of our positions require:

  • A six month minimum commitment
  • One three-hour scheduled shift per week
  • Attendance at a Volunteer Information Session (two hours)
  • Additional training as needed

Make a difference in these areas.

Animal Care
Exercise dogs, groom cats, feed and clean all animals and work with vet techs and the veterinary staff.

Community Events
Plan and participate in special events.

Customer Service (Adoptions, Foster Care, Lost & Found)
Greet our visitors, help with adoptions or take a shelter animal into your home temporarily. This position involves direct contact with animals and a great deal of contact with the public. You may be escorting customers looking for lost pets, moving animals to different locations, providing foster care for a young animal, handling paperwork or answering telephones. Required training: Customer Service Orientation (1 hour). Specific position training (2 hours).

Facilities & Grounds
Assist with repairs, painting, cleaning landscaping, recycling and other projects to keep the shelter looking its best.

Humane Education
Assist our educators as they teach compassion for all living things.

General Office Support
Assist departments with clerical tasks, including computer work, photocopying, filing, data collection, stuffing envelopes, and answering phones.

PALS Program
Help elderly and ill people and their companion animals stay together by providing pet care assistance. Volunteers may walk a dog, pick up pet food, offer transportation to the vet, or provide emergency pet foster care in the event the client is hospitalized.

Pet Visitation
Take your pets to visit people in senior and healthcare facilities.
