The goals of humane education are to teach compassion and respect for all living things, to promote responsibility, and to help create a community that embraces humane values.

What is humane education?

Humane education is a process through which we assist children in developing the values of compassion, empathy, justice, and respect for all living things — ourselves, other human beings, animals, and the earth.

Humane education provides the knowledge and understanding necessary to enable children to make life-enhancing choices and behave in alignment with these values.

Humane education helps to foster a sense of responsibility and pride on the part of children to affirm and act upon their personal beliefs.
