On May 14, 2013, the Hawaiian Humane Society followed up on a tip about dogs living in deplorable conditions. As a result, 43 Pomeranian dogs were surrendered to our care from a Halawa breeder who stated she sold her pups at Petland Kahala’s puppy swap meet and other outlets. She was active in the show dog world.
The Humane Society strongly urges all those who buy puppies to ensure to inspect the living conditions of the pup’s parents. Pet shops and internet sales protect irresponsible breeders who may not want you to see how they care for animals they sell.
We hope this case inspires you to advocate for adoption and to acquire purebreds responsibly. Share this web page through your social media networks.
