Fast Track III Program for High School Volunteers
Fast Track III Program for High School Volunteers
Furlough Days 2009 – 2010
The Fast Track plan is based on a Service Learning Model that incorporates classes, doing shelter housekeeping tasks, reflection journal writing and roundtable discussions about daily events. The plan would offer students a two day training program with three hours of involvement for two consecutive Fridays on the shelter site. The Fast Track III Program covers the two required classes that are required of all volunteers. Students would be asked to commit to five hours of service on each of the 15 remaining furlough days. Students would be requested to continue working as volunteers at the Hawaiian Humane Society when the furlough days are finished.
