For each hike, bring plenty of water for yourself and your animal. Stay with the group and do not hike without an experienced trailsman/woman who is familiar with the trail. Always carry your cell phone in case of emergencies. If you have any comments or feedback, call 356-2222.

Waimano Ridge Trail

Meet At: 8:30 am
Hike Starts: 8:45 am

Directions From Honolulu:

  • Merge onto I-H1 West toward Honolulu.
  • Stay in left lanes and go over Red Hill on #78.
  • Stay to right which will take you onto I-H1 West toward Pearl City.
  • Take exit 10 for Pearl City/ Waimalu.
  • Keep right at the fork, and merge onto Moanalua Rd.
  • Turn right at Waimano Home Rd. and go to the end of the road.
  • Park in the dirt on the left at the end of the road.

Directions From Ewa Beach: 

  • Get on H-1 East bound.
  • Exit at Waimalu and turn left onto Moanalua Rd.
  • Turn right at Waimano Home Rd and continue to the end of the road.
  • Park in the dirt on the left at the end of the road.

Note: You can also get onto Kamehameha Hwy West bound and then turn left onto Waimano Home Rd.

To reach the trailhead, head to the end of Waimano Home Rd and park your car on the side of the road just outside of the gate leading to the grounds of Waimano Home itself. You will see a mailbox/check-in station for hunters on the left and the trail itself skirting outside the fence along the roadway. Soon after the trail starts, it will fork; stay on the upper trail.
