Advantages to adopting an older pet

  • Puppies may grow to be larger than expected or develop temperaments that are not ideal for their adopting families.
     
  • Many adult dogs are already housetrained, with some obedience training as well.
     
  • Older pets also have a fully developed immune systems. They are less likely to acquire diseases such as parvo virus, worms and skin diseases.
