Investigations, Rescues & Laws

Report Cruelty Now

Our officers specialize in animal law enforcement and criminal justice. We are the only authority outside of HPD that can rescue animals and investigate cruelty on behalf of the City & County of Honolulu. We walk a fine line between education and enforcement, exercising both based on what’s best for the animals. Often we find that where the law lacks, our influence as advisors and partners with pet owners yields far better results.

Call 356-2250 and we’ll respond to all calls daily between 8 am and 5 pm.

  • Animal Cruelty & Abuse. We investigate all tips of potential animal cruelty and abuse. Reports can be filed here.
  • Aggressive Loose Dogs. The Society will provide humane capture of dogs in situations in which a loose dog is aggressive, including attacks to people or animals. Owners may secure their dogs at a boarding facility of their own choice and at their own expense in accordance with applicable law. Investigations will be conducted and citations may be issued by Honolulu Police Department.

  • Animal Emergencies. Situations in which an animal's life or people are in danger.

Bring stray and surrendered animals to us any time of day or night at 2700 Waialae Avenue. We do not pick up stray animals unless they are in imminent danger.
